Curriculum

Curriculum at SBCSICA incorporates a constructivist model of education and New York State Common Core Standards in a dual language program. Our approach emphasizes inquiry based teaching strategies that are rigorous and include higher order thinking and reflect the importance of educating the whole child inclusive of their emotional, social, physical and intellectual needs. Curriculum is designed to foster curiosity and initiative, creativity and problem solving in a collaborative setting where children can explore ideas and materials that are interesting and connect to their world. These features will also help children develop the knowledge, respect and understanding of diverse cultures and maximize their opportunities for success in school and beyond.
